Article 38
The student’s grades for each course are calculated according to
Appendix (1) of this by-law.
Article 39
Honors degree:
1. First-class honors are granted to the student who has earned a
cumulative GPA between 4.75 and 5.00 (out of 5.00) or between
3.75 and 4.00 (out of 4.00) at the time of their graduation, and
second-class honors are granted to the student who has earned a
cumulative GPA of 4.25 or higher but less than 4.75 (out of 5.00),
or 3.25 or higher but less than 3.75 (out of 4.00) at the time of their
graduation.
2. The student who is eligible for first- or second-class honors must
meet the following criteria:
A. The student must not have failed any course completed at the
University or any other university. This also includes visiting and
transferred student.
B. The student must have completed all graduation requirements by
the median time between the maximum and minimum limits for
completing the degree program, as a maximum.
C. The student must have completed 60% or more of the graduation
requirements at the university from which they are graduating.
The Rule of Implementation for Article 39
1. First-class honors are granted to the student who has earned
a cumulative GPA between 3.75 and 4.00 at the time of their
graduation, and second-class honors are granted to the student
who has earned a cumulative GPA from 3.25 to less than 3.75 (out of
4.00) at the time of their graduation.
