management, and will report to the College Dean of the hosting
department.
3. A Chairperson for the committee will be appointed by the Vice
President for Academic Affairs. The committee is considered a
permanent committee and is directly linked to the College Dean
to which the program is hosted.
4. Upon completion of the program requirements, the student
shall be awarded one graduation certificate that reflects both
specializations.
5. The interdisciplinary program is subject to all other university
regulations that apply to other programs, unless otherwise
stated in the by-law.
C. Dual programs regulations: (Double Major)
1. When designing the other major, it must be ensured that the
number of credit hours allocated to it is not less than 30% of
the total hours of the relevant specialization. These hours must
be part of the college or program requirements and shall not
include university requirements or elective courses. Shared
credit hours between the primary major and the other major
may be counted, provided they do not exceed a maximum of 8
credit hours.
2. Students may choose a double major in addition to their primary
major, subject to the following regulations:
A. The other major must be different from the student’s primary
specialization and must be offered by a different college or
academic department.
B. Student may take courses in both majors simultaneously,
subject to the regulations outlined in the Study and
Examination by-law, such as the study load in each semester.
C. Students who wish to pursue a double major must have
completed at least 56 hours in their current primary major
and have a cumulative average of at least (2.25) out of (4.00).
This decision is subject to approval by their academic advisor.
D. Students must complete the requirements of the other major
