BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
(SASCED-P 07130101)
Introduction
The Electrical Engineering (EE) Program aims to respond to the high demand in the Middle East for
engineers who can develop innovative approaches to solving engineering problems. Investigations and
surveys of human resources needs in Saudi Arabia have indicated a high demand for highly qualified
electrical engineers. The economy is growing, especially in the field area of electrical engineering,
where significant investments are being made.
The EE Program aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 by training and educating students to develop the
electrical power infrastructure, especially in transmission and distribution networks, and the
renewable energy market. The program teaches the fundamentals of these aspects along with the
specific needs of the market.
The EE Program is conceived with industry partners, ensures world-class facilities, and provides
knowledge and technical expertise in the latest research areas like Smart Grid, Power Electronics,
Electric Vehicles, etc. Electrical engineers are required in various core industries, including IT
companies in the private and public sectors. Additionally, the program enhances the creativity of
students to develop innovative projects and eventually results in novel products for the market and
society's needs.
A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering is awarded upon successful completion of 138
credit hours. This includes 23 credit hours as university requirements courses, 42 credit hours as
college requirement courses, 63 credit hours of program requirements courses, and field experience
or internship option of 10 credit hours.
Program Vision
The Electrical Engineering Program aspires to graduate outstanding electrical engineers capable of
serving the local societies professionally by providing them with high-quality and up-to-date electrical
engineering education.
Program Mission
To provide students with the needed knowledge and skills in electrical engineering, to conduct
scientific research, and to contribute to the sustainability of society.
Program Goals (Program Educational Objectives)
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering are expected, within a few years of
graduation, to have demonstrated:
● PEO1: EE graduates will apply electrical engineering knowledge and skills to design solutions,
solve complex problems, and pursue graduate studies and research, demonstrating
creativity and innovation.
● PEO2: EE graduates will uphold ethical standards, commit to sustainability, and pursue
lifelong learning.
● PEO3: EE graduates will demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, decision-making, and
teamwork, contributing positively to their organizations and society
