Fifth International Women in Data Science(WiDS) Conference

The Conference will be organized by Prince Sultan University(PSU), Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics (AIDA) Lab, in collaboration with Stanford University. The conference aims to foster the interest and professional participation of women in not only data science but also in engineering and computer science as a whole. WiDS PSU 2022 will bring together high profile international researchers and industry pioneers. Prince Sultan University (PSU) is the WiDS Ambassador, for Stanford and the conference aims to expose the latest data science research and practices in the Arab Middle East by promoting the exchange of ideas, encouraging mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration in line with technological advances in the Kingdom under the umbrella of the Saudi Vision 2030.



WiDS PSU 2022

The Conference will provide an opportunity for national and international researchers to present their novel research findings and exchange information with the research community. It will bring along specialists, leading researchers, scholars, scientists, professors from fields of computer science, technology, engineering science, business, education and alternative connected areas to act and exchange ideas concerning the state of the art technologies associated with artificial intelligence, IoT & big data analytics.WiDS PSU will comprise of oral sessions, keynote speeches, technical workshops, panel discussions, best regular paper & poster awards, Poster shows, video shows by the specialists in AI, Data Science and IoT domains. The conference will feature vision talks by distinguished speakers from academia, with female data scientists and researchers, and networking opportunities. All genders are invited to participate in the conference.

Significance of WiDS at Prince Sultan University

The Global WiDS conference aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field. This one-day technical conference provides an opportunity to hear about the latest data science-related research and applications in a number of domains, and connect with others in the field.

We focus on challenges and applications of all fields: computer science, computational biology, social science, economics, medicine, physics, chemistry, law, engineering, mathematics, digital humanities, etc in the fields of data science.

CONFERENCE

Submission Guidelines

  • Full papers: should describe original and unpublished work about the above or related topics. All manuscripts will be reviewed by three members of the program committee. Authors are invited to submit their papers in English of up to 6 double-column pages IEEE format, with up to 2 extra pages with additional fees. The format of the paper should follow IEEE guidelines for the two-column IEEE-sponsored conference proceedings. Templates for Microsoft Word and LaTeX are available here. Authors may use the online submission system hosted by EasyChair Conference System to submit their papers.   • Authors can submit up to 6 pages for full paper (including references) and up to 4 pages for short/poster paper (including references) as per IEEE guidelines.
  • Paper submissions can have multiple authors (of any gender), but at least one author of each accepted paper must be identified as a woman, who is expected to present the paper at the conference.
  • All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. Accepted papers should not have more than 15% of similarity.
  • Registration Fee of 150$ is required.
Proceedings and indexing

All accepted and presented papers will be indexed in IEEE Xplore (Digital Library) for conference proceedings publication. The conference proceedings will be submitted to: Scopus

For poster competition

We welcome poster submissions that present original ideas and research in any fields using or developing data science methods (e.g.: computational biology, social science, economics, computer science, mathematics, digital humanities ...etc).

Poster submissions can have multiple authors (of any gender), but at least one author of each accepted poster must be identified as a woman. Our call is open for women in data science in academia and in industry too.
