This Forum is organized and hosted by the Linguistics and Translation Department at the College of Humanities and Sciences, Prince Sultan University (PSU). It aims at raising awareness of the importance of language and translation in enhancing intercultural communication and promoting essential world values, including tolerance, inclusion and peace. Prominent figures in relevant fields will participate in theLTIC Forum through plenary talks, panel discussions and workshops. They will discuss theLTIC Forum themes in theory and practice.
The aim of this year’s forum is to explore how changes to spaces have impacted on intercultural communication. For example, the stadiums used to host the World Cup in Qatar were a vessel to stimulate new attitudes towards and dialogues with the entire region.
Also, the forum aims to explore how revisions to stories, which either directly relate to changing spaces or merely coincide with them, have impacted on intercultural communication. For example, the war in Ukraine has altered narratives concerning refugees and thus improved intercultural communication with refugees from other regions.
