The Inter-University Translation Competition is a unique competition as it is the only one of its type in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Since its beginning in 2014, it attracts translation departments in Saudi Arabia, and expanded to include other universities from the Gulf region. Last year, due to the increasing demand and lack of a similar translation competition for male students, the competition expanded to include both male and female undergraduate students. The Competition aims to promote the competitive spirit among the participants and prepare them to the vibrant labor market. The competition symbolizes the Saudi national vision 2030 in its focus on the youth and their readiness to the future.
Translation is one of the most critical jobs in modern society; it plays a vital role in the performance of international companies and governments alike. It also contributes to the future of almost all fields around us, as it serves as a main tool to access knowledge.
We chose our theme for this year: “Translation and Tomorrow” to highlight the importance of the translation field in the future of sciences and fields of knowledges that are rapidly growing, and to act in accordance with the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, which seeks to build a brighter future for our country.
