PSU Mission PSU Central Library's Mission is to provide the Middle East with quality education to the highest international standards. In its efforts towards technological, pedagogical and human values for the advancement of scientific research, productivity and leadership towards a more meaningful social life, PSU is committed to an effective management of institutional resources to optimize its multiple role as catalyst for new learning opportunities, national and international partnerships, continuous studies, professional growth, community service and diversity in educational horizons for the good of humanity.
PSU Central Library's Mission has been constructed on the basis of Prince Sultan University's mission, emphasizing its aim to providing quality education and life-long learning to the highest international standards, besides promoting national and international partnership, professional growth, and community service, by supplying users with adequate access, search, and retrieval; and offering distinctive information services satisfying needs of various users; selecting information resources, and organizing them in a way that facilitates teaching, learning, training, research, knowledge search & enrichment, besides intellectual & professional development of the university community, through advanced library information technology infrastructure, and use of efficient human resources, and latest equipments, systems, standards and tools.
Vision
PSU Central Library vision of PSU Central Library has been drafter according to Prince Sultan University's vision. Given technological advances and the changing nature of higher education, the Library will be increasingly technology-driven, making use of the latest electronic innovations in a hyperlibrary. Basic hardbound journal collections will be supported with electronic subscriptions. Delivery of information from remote sites will be accelerated. A growing number of digitized library materials will be available, with the original works accessible only for research. Professional librarians will spend more time handling information services to in-campus and remote users than they currently do. Library systems will also be more integrated with those of the campus and other institutions and networks. The Library overall will function more as a campus community activity center, with more cultural activities, sponsored events, meetings, etc. besides being a place of quiet study, learning, research and discovery.

Mission PSU Central Library's Mission The mission of PSU Central Library web site is to support the University's programs of research teaching and service by providing access to information resources to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff of the University, insofar as possible.
Objectives PSU Central Library web site will establish an informative, attractive and easily navigated presence on the World Wide Web, as determined by examining peer sites and user needs, through which the Libraries can:
- Provide information to current and potential clients on and off-campus about the policies, services, resources and outreach of the University Library.
- Offer information services that support University academic programs, both on and off-campus, to University faculty, staff and students.
- Serve as a gateway for on and off-campus users to selected Internet resources which support University academic programs.
- Foster communication between the Library and clients.
Objectives of PSU Central Library
- Provide relevant information resources and databases
- Provide access to information resources
- Collect information resources in all formats, broaden and update all collections to meet the needs of PSU programs and support the various aspects of the institution: teaching training, research and services.
- Educate and assist faculty, students and staff in the identification and effective utilization of information resources.
- Continue to strengthen and update all collections to meet the needs of PSU programs
- Maintain and upgrade physical and technological infrastructure to enhance the quality of services.
- Meet or exceed accreditation and quality standards
- Provide access to library resources and servers via web pages and online resources
- Ensure that resources available are current, appropriate and accessible
- Work closely with users; know their needs and interests
- Enhance information literacy, especially of the student community, by developing effective plans aiming at improving student ability to: (1) access information effectively and efficiently; (2) evaluate information and its sources; (3) understand economic, legal and social issues when using information; (4) access and use information critically and legally.
