Obtaining Software
The attention of all users is drawn to the University's
Software Policy.
Software may be obtained by members of the University in a number of
ways:
Locally-available software
Certain software is available for without charge to members of the
University. Anti-virus software can be downloaded directly from the
Web.
Downloading from the Intranet website
An extensive range of software is also available on the Intranet;
this may be free, may be "shareware" or may be for sale over the
Internet.
The on-line catalogue and ordering system is the easiest way to
check availability, license conditions and prices, and to place
orders with Software Sales.
Commercial purchase
Software which is not available on the Intranet or ITCS will have to
be purchased from commercial retailers. Academic discounts are often
available, so it is always worth asking dealers if there is an
education price.
